Devī’s Wrath and the Manifestation of the Śaktis
ते च सर्वे तथा श्रुत्वा शंकराय न्यवेदयन् । नत्वा प्रांजलयो दीनाः शक्रप्रभृतयस्सुराः
te ca sarve tathā śrutvā śaṃkarāya nyavedayan | natvā prāṃjalayo dīnāḥ śakraprabhṛtayassurāḥ
Habiéndolo oído así, todos ellos informaron el asunto a Śaṅkara. Postrándose con las palmas juntas, los dioses—encabezados por Śakra (Indra)—se presentaron ante Él, abatidos y afligidos.

Significance: Models śaraṇāgati: devas themselves bow to Śaṅkara; the pilgrim likewise approaches Śiva with humility for removal of distress.

It highlights śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): even the devas, when afflicted, abandon pride and approach Śiva with humility, showing that grace arises through reverence and surrender to Pati (the Lord).
The devas approach Śaṅkara as the accessible, compassionate Saguna Lord who responds to prayers; this mirrors how devotees approach the Śiva-liṅga with namaskāra and folded hands, seeking protection and guidance.
The verse suggests a simple upāsanā: bowing (namaskāra) with prāñjali (joined palms) while mentally taking refuge in Śiva—ideally accompanied by japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” as an attitude of humility and surrender.
