Role: creative
It highlights a key Shaiva virtue: accepting wholesome guidance (hita) and transforming it into unwavering resolve—an inner discipline that supports bhakti and tapas on the path toward union with Lord Shiva.
Though the verse does not mention the Liṅga directly, it frames the inner preparation for Saguna Shiva worship—purifying intention, taking right counsel, and committing to a chosen vrata or practice that culminates in devoted worship.
The implied practice is steady vrata-like resolve: maintaining disciplined devotion (bhakti) and tapas; in Shaiva observance this commonly supports regular japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and consistent pūjā with purity and focus.
