Oh Mahādeva, maravillosa es tu gran līlā divina, que otorga dicha. Oh Śaṅkara, oh Señor poderoso: eres amigo y refugio de los afligidos, y bienhechor de todos los justos.

Type: stotra
Role: nurturing
It praises Shiva’s līlā as a grace-filled, bliss-giving power: the Lord remains transcendent yet compassionately turns toward devotees, especially the distressed, guiding the righteous toward auspiciousness and liberation.
By addressing Shiva with personal epithets (Mahādeva, Śaṅkara, dīnabandhu), the verse supports Saguna-bhakti—approaching the formless Supreme through a worshipful form such as the Śiva-liṅga, where His compassion and auspiciousness are contemplated.
A practical takeaway is devotional japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a prayerful attitude of surrender, remembering Shiva as the giver of bliss and refuge of the afflicted.
