अप्सु हूयादथ प्रेषैरभिमंत्र्य त्रिधा त्वपः । प्राश्य तीरे समागत्य भूमौ वस्त्रादिकं त्यजेत्
apsu hūyādatha preṣairabhimaṃtrya tridhā tvapaḥ | prāśya tīre samāgatya bhūmau vastrādikaṃ tyajet
Luego debe hacerse la ofrenda en el agua; tras consagrar esa agua tres veces con los mantras prescritos, debe sorberla. Después, al llegar a la orilla, ha de dejar en el suelo sus vestiduras y demás objetos.

The verse frames preparation for Saguna Shiva worship as a consecrated, rule-based rite: water is empowered by mantra and taken as ācamana, making the devotee fit to approach Shiva’s sacred presence (such as the Linga) with purity and restraint.
Mantra-abhimantrana of water three times, followed by sipping (ācamana), and then setting aside garments/possessions as part of ritual discipline—supporting a focused, renunciatory mindset before Shaiva worship.
