अद्यनैरृतकन्यानांश्रोष्याम्यन्तःपुरेरवम् ।।।।करेणुसङ्घस्ययथानिनादंगिरिगह्वरे ।

adya nairṛta-kanyānāṃ śroṣyāmy antaḥpure ravam | kareṇu-saṅghasya yathā ninādaṃ giri-gahvare ||

Hoy oiré, dentro de las estancias del palacio, el clamor de las doncellas rākṣasas, como el bramido de una manada de elefantas que resuena en las cuevas de la montaña.
