Al oír que Atikāya había sido abatido por el poderoso Lakṣmaṇa, el rey fue presa de turbación y pronunció estas palabras.
On hearing that Atikaya was killed by highly energetic Lakshmana, the king was overtaken by emotion and spoke as follows.
Dharma highlights the inevitability of accountability: violence undertaken for unrighteous aims returns as sorrow and instability.
The king hears of Atikāya’s fall and begins to speak, setting up the subsequent lament/listing of losses.
Lakṣmaṇa’s martial excellence joined to loyalty in service of Rāma’s dharmic cause.
