The Slaying of Kumbhakarna
ततोहरीणांतदनीकमुग्रंदुद्रावशूलंनिशितंप्रगृह्य ।तस्थौ स तस्यापततःपुरस्तान्महीधराग्रंहनुमान् प्रगृह्य ।।।।
tato harīṇāṃ tad anīkam ugraṃ dudrāva śūlaṃ niśitaṃ pragṛhya |
tasthau sa tasyāpatataḥ purastān mahīdharāgraṃ hanumān pragṛhya ||
Entonces, empuñando una pica aguda y afilada, se lanzó con furia contra aquella temible hueste de los Vānara. Pero Hanumān, tomando la cima de una montaña, se mantuvo firme y la puso delante de sí cuando el atacante se abalanzó.
Thereafter Kumbhakarna holding a sharp pike rushed towards Hanuman who uprooted a mountain peak and obstructed him placing it before him.
Dharma here is seen as steadfast protection of one’s allies: Hanumān does not flee; he stands firm and interposes a barrier, embodying righteous courage and duty toward the Vānara host.
Satya is implied as fidelity to one’s vowed purpose: Hanumān’s unwavering stance signals truth to commitment—acting in accordance with the cause he serves, without deception or wavering.
