Los aurigas rākṣasas, tronando con gritos terribles, cercenaron de golpe las cabezas de los jefes vánaras que rugían, con flechas tan mortíferas como la Muerte al fin de los tiempos.
The Rakshasa charioteers severed the roaring Vanara leaders forcibly with their arrows emitting frightening sounds. They were like the Lord of Death at universal dissolution.
The verse highlights the brutal reality of war, implying the Dharmic need for restraint and right conduct even when power and weaponry enable extreme violence.
A fierce phase of the battle: Rakshasa chariot-fighters strike down prominent Vanara chiefs with deadly arrows.
Endurance and courage under catastrophic loss—an implicit call for steadfastness in a righteous cause despite terror.
