सरमायाḥ सीतासान्त्वनम् तथा रावणनिश्चयश्रवणम्
Saarana Consoles Sita and Reports Ravana’s Resolve
ततस्तस्याहितंसख्याश्चिकीर्षन्तीसखीवचः ।उवाचकालेकालज्ञास्मितपूर्वाभिभाषिणी ।।।।
tatas tasyāḥ hitaṃ sakhyāś cikīrṣantī sakhī vacaḥ | uvāca kāle kālajñā smitapūrvābhibhāṣiṇī ||
Entonces Saramā, su amiga, deseosa de procurar el bien de Sītā y conocedora del momento oportuno, pronunció palabras de consejo; primero ofreció una suave sonrisa antes de hablar.
Then Saarana who knew the right time to do so, wishing the welfare of her dear friend Sita and desirous of doing anything for her smiled before she started speaking.
Dharma as timely, benevolent speech: wisdom includes knowing when and how to speak so that truth becomes healing rather than harsh.
Saramā prepares to speak to Sītā with sensitivity, choosing the right time and manner to convey difficult news.
Saramā’s prudence (kālajñatā) and compassion—she aims at Sītā’s welfare and communicates gently.
