Lament of the Rākṣasa Women upon Seeing Rāvaṇa Slain

Si hubieras devuelto a Rāma a Sītā de Mithilā, su propia esposa, no habría caído sobre nosotros esta terrible calamidad que nos ha arrancado de raíz.
"If Sita, princess of Mithila had been returned by you, this great destruction of the very root and calamity with you and for us would not have happened."
Respecting marital sanctity and returning what is wrongfully taken is a dharmic imperative; refusal to correct wrongdoing invites devastating consequences.
The women identify the single corrective act—returning Sītā—that could have prevented the annihilation of Laṅkā’s foundations.
The virtue of repentance and restitution (prāyaścitta-like correction) is emphasized by its absence in Rāvaṇa.
