Lament of the Rākṣasa Women upon Seeing Rāvaṇa Slain
On seeing Ravana killed by the great soul Raghava, the Rakshasas from the gynaeceum stricken with grief rushed out.
War’s outcomes extend beyond the battlefield; dharma includes awareness of suffering borne by families and communities after adharma-driven conflict.
After Rāvaṇa’s death, the palace women emerge in shock and grief from the antaḥpura.
Karunā (compassion) is implicitly evoked by depicting the grief of those left behind.
