Śatānanda’s Welcome to Rāma and the Prelude to Viśvāmitra’s History
O Best of ascetics (Satananda)! All that is required to be done has been done and nothing was omitted. Ahalya was united with sage Gautama like Renuka with Jamadagni.
Dharma is framed as completing what is rightfully required—restoring order after disruption. Reunification signifies re-establishment of gṛhastha-dharma and social-moral balance.
Viśvāmitra assures Śatānanda that the necessary act has been accomplished: Ahalyā’s reconciliation and return to her rightful state alongside Gautama.
Viśvāmitra’s accountability and clarity: he reports duty fulfilled without exaggeration, using a traditional exemplum (Reṇukā–Jamadagni) to communicate restoration.
