Concept: The same disciplined worship that leads seekers toward liberation also sustains the worlds: dharma-saṅgraha (consolidation of dharma) is protective order rooted in Bhagavān’s worship.

Application: Unite personal spirituality with social responsibility: perform duties ethically, protect dependents, support dharmic institutions, and keep worship as the inner motive rather than ego or reward.

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A vast cosmic tableau shows the three worlds held in balance by a luminous Viṣṇu presence, while a mumukṣu devotee performs simple worship—offering water and flowers—whose ripples become protective rings around cities, forests, and celestial realms. Dharma appears as a golden thread weaving through society: kings judging fairly, farmers working, sages teaching, all oriented toward Hari.","primary_figures":["Vishnu (as cosmic protector)","mumukṣu devotee","symbolic figures of society (king, householder, sage)"],"setting":"Layered cosmos: earthly villages and forests below, Svarga above, subtle netherworld hints; central altar in the foreground linking microcosm to macrocosm.","lighting_mood":"divine radiance","color_palette":["cosmic midnight blue","sunlit gold","lotus white","ruby red","verdant green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Viṣṇu as jagat-pāla with grand gold leaf halo, conch and discus prominent; below, a devotee performs pūjā, and miniature vignettes show dharma-protection (just king, charitable householder, teaching sage); rich reds/greens, ornate gold borders, gem-like detailing.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: poetic multi-register composition—earth, heaven, and subtle realms; Viṣṇu in the sky, devotee at a small shrine, delicate scenes of dharmic life; cool blues and greens with fine gold accents, refined faces and soft cloud forms.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: iconic Viṣṇu dominating the center with bold outlines; simplified yet powerful scenes of loka-rakṣaṇa around him; red/yellow/green palette, stylized cosmic bands, temple mural symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central Viṣṇu emblematic form with ornate lotus borders; surrounding circular medallions depict dharma acts (dāna, protection, teaching) as petals; deep blue and gold, intricate floral patterns, devotional textile aesthetic."}

FAQs

It states that mumukṣus should fully worship and propitiate the Lord (Bhagavān Īśa), presenting devotion as a core means aligned with liberation.

The verse equates the protection of all realms with dharma-saṁgraha—maintaining, preserving, and keeping dharma intact as a stabilizing principle for cosmic and social order.

Personal spiritual pursuit (worship aimed at moksha) and public responsibility (protecting society/worlds through dharma) are presented as parallel duties that uphold both inner liberation and outer harmony.
