विज्वल उवाच । वासुदेवाभिधानं तत्स्तोत्रं कथय मे पितः । येन मोक्षं व्रजेद्राजा तद्विष्णोः परमं पदम्
vijvala uvāca | vāsudevābhidhānaṃ tatstotraṃ kathaya me pitaḥ | yena mokṣaṃ vrajedrājā tadviṣṇoḥ paramaṃ padam
Vijvala dijo: Padre, cuéntame ese himno llamado “Vāsudeva” (stotra), por el cual un rey puede alcanzar la liberación y llegar a la morada suprema de Viṣṇu.

Vijvala asks his father to teach him the hymn called the “Vāsudeva-stotra,” which is said to lead a king to liberation and to Viṣṇu’s supreme abode.
It presents devotional praise (stotra) of Vāsudeva/Viṣṇu as a direct means toward mokṣa, highlighting devotion and remembrance as liberating practices.
Even kings—despite power and worldly duties—should seek spiritual instruction and adopt devotional discipline, aiming for liberation rather than mere temporal success.
