FAQs

It contrasts temporary worldly sovereignty (cakravarti-pada) with the ultimate goal—attaining Viṣṇu’s supreme abode—implying that worldly success is meaningful when it culminates in devotion and liberation.

“Vaiṣṇava loka” denotes the divine realm associated with Viṣṇu; “tad viṣṇoḥ paramaṃ padam” is a common Purāṇic/Vedic expression for Viṣṇu’s highest transcendental state or abode.

The verse frames attainment—both royal fortune and the final spiritual destination—as dependent on grace and right alignment, encouraging humility, gratitude, and righteous conduct rather than pride in power.
