Unspecified (narrative voice within Bhūmi-khaṇḍa; commonly framed in the Pulastya–Bhīṣma dialogue in this khanda)

Concept: Strength and stability arise when cosmic roles are performed rightly; nourishment (kṣīra) becomes power (ojas) when received in proper vessels.

Application: Be a ‘Meru’ in one’s sphere: take responsibility, create proper ‘vessels’ (disciplines, routines), and channel resources to strengthen community foundations.

M
Meru

FAQs

It presents a mythic-cosmological explanation for the strength and growth of mountains, placing Meru at the center as an active cosmic agent that “nourishes” the earth’s ranges.

This verse is primarily encyclopedic cosmology/etiology within the Bhūmi-khaṇḍa, using symbolic imagery to explain the world’s formation rather than directly teaching devotion.

The image suggests that stability and power arise from proper nourishment and sustaining sources—an allegory for how strength (physical or spiritual) depends on being supported by a higher, life-giving principle.
