Prologue to the Suvrata Narrative: Revā (Narmadā) and Vāmana-tīrtha; Greed, Anxiety, and the Ethics of Trust

फलानां तु रसेनापि अधर्मेण तु पालितः । स संतुष्टो भवेन्मर्त्यः पतनायाभिगच्छति

phalānāṃ tu rasenāpi adharmeṇa tu pālitaḥ | sa saṃtuṣṭo bhavenmartyaḥ patanāyābhigacchati

Aunque un mortal se sostenga tan solo con el jugo de los frutos, si ese sustento se mantiene por medios de adharma, puede sentirse satisfecho; pero camina hacia la caída.
