The Glory of Kailāsa, the Gaṅgā Lake, and Ratneśvara
Entry into the Kuñjala–Kapiñjala Narrative
Concept: Sharing sacred experience (anubhava) as kathā becomes a vehicle of puṇya for both speaker and listener.
Application: When you encounter something uplifting, articulate it clearly and offer it as a gift—teach by testimony, not by pride.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: vira

It introduces a dialogue where the listener asks about something “highly merit-giving” (supuṇyadam), and Kapiñjala promises to narrate an “unprecedented” account in response.
The verse explicitly marks the speaker as Kapiñjala (kapiñjala uvāca).
The verse models humility and proper inquiry: sincere questioning about what brings spiritual merit, and a qualified narrator’s readiness to transmit sacred knowledge.
