FAQs

It highlights the sanctity of Puruṣottama-kṣetra by noting a “hidden icon” (gupta-pratimā), implying that divine presence can be veiled yet powerfully operative in a tīrtha, deepening reverence for the place and its sacred mysteries.

By centering attention on Puruṣottama (Viṣṇu) and His sacred kṣetra, the verse directs devotion toward holy places and deity-forms (mūrti). Bhakti here is expressed through श्रद्धा (faith) in the tīrtha’s renown and in the deity’s presence—even when not outwardly manifest.

No explicit Vedāṅga technique is taught in this line; it primarily belongs to tīrtha-māhātmya. Practically, it supports ritual culture (kalpa-oriented practice) by legitimizing mūrti-upāsanā and pilgrimage-based observances in a renowned kṣetra.
