The Greatness of Offering Piṇḍas at Viṣṇvādipada (Viṣṇupada) — Gayā Śrāddha Procedure and Fruits
Narada (teaching in a dharma-ritual context; addressed to Mohinī as a vocative within the narrative)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It links correct observance of the fourth-day rite with inner and ritual purification (pūtatva) and declares a higher spiritual fruit—attainment of Brahmaloka—for one who performs śrāddha properly.
While primarily a dharma-ritual instruction, it supports bhakti indirectly by emphasizing faithful performance of prescribed rites for ancestors as an offering done with reverence, which purifies the practitioner and aligns life with sacred duty.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) is central: it specifies the timing (fourth day) and the concept of karmādhikāra—eligibility to perform rites—gained through proper, purifying observance.
