The Account of Kāṣṭhīlā (Kāṣṭhīlā-ākhyāna) within the Mohinī Narrative

ततः काकी ततः श्याली गोधा गोत्वेन शुद्ध्यति । भर्तुरर्थे तु या वित्तें विद्यमानं न यच्छति ॥ ४१ ॥

tataḥ kākī tataḥ śyālī godhā gotvena śuddhyati | bharturarthe tu yā vitteṃ vidyamānaṃ na yacchati || 41 ||

Después se vuelve una cuerva; después, una chacala. Naciendo como lagartija, se purifica al alcanzar el estado de vaca. Pero aquella mujer que, aun habiendo riqueza disponible, no la entrega para el bienestar de su esposo—(tal es la consecuencia declarada).
