Al oír las palabras del hijo de Sūta, los más excelsos entre los nacidos dos veces escucharon también la gloria del Portador del Disco (Viṣṇu), la que apacigua la inundación entera de los pecados.
Suta (Sūta-putra), as narrator to assembled sages
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights śravaṇa (devotional hearing) of Viṣṇu’s māhātmya as a direct purifier—capable of calming and dissolving even a “flood of sins” (sarva-pāpaugha).
By emphasizing attentive listening to the Lord’s greatness (māhātmya), it presents bhakti as beginning with hearing: receptivity to sacred discourse leads to inner peace and moral purification.
No specific Vedāṅga technique is taught here; the practical takeaway is the discipline of śravaṇa—regular hearing of Purāṇic recitation as a recognized sādhana within dharma practice.
