यद्यप्यदेयं मम जीवितं हि याचिष्यते चेद्यदि हेमवर्णा । दास्यामि चेदं न विचारयिष्ये पुत्रं विना नास्ति नदेयमस्याः ॥ ३६ ॥

yadyapyadeyaṃ mama jīvitaṃ hi yāciṣyate cedyadi hemavarṇā | dāsyāmi cedaṃ na vicārayiṣye putraṃ vinā nāsti nadeyamasyāḥ || 36 ||

Aunque mi propia vida sea algo que no debe entregarse—si la dama de tono dorado la pidiera, se la daría sin vacilar. Pues, aparte de su hijo, no hay nada suyo que no deba concedérsele.
