The Narrative of the Pativrata
Narada (didactic narration within Uttara-Bhaga discourse)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"karuna","secondary_rasa":"shanta","emotional_journey":"Compassion arises from the image of an unsupported mother and a father sharing her suffering, resolving into sober reflection on empathy within the son’s heart."}
It frames dharma as shared responsibility: a righteous person cannot claim inner peace while a parent suffers—compassion and support for one’s family are treated as a moral and spiritual obligation.
Bhakti is not only worship but also seva and sensitivity; devotion to Bhagavan is reflected in caring for those one is bound to by dharma, especially parents, without selfish pursuit of personal comfort.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana, Jyotisha, or Kalpa) is taught directly; the verse emphasizes niti/dharma—practical ethics that guide a grihastha’s conduct.
