अहञ्चेन्दीवराख्येति ख्यातो 'स्य जनको 'भवम् । विद्याधरपतेः पुत्रो नलनाभस्य खङ्गिनः ॥
ahañ cendīvarākhyeti khyāto 'sya janako 'bhavam | vidyādharapateḥ putro nalanābhasya khaṅginaḥ ||
«Y yo era conocido con el nombre de Endīvara; llegué a ser su padre, pues soy hijo de Nalanābha, el señor portador de espada de los Vidyādhara.»

High birth or celestial status does not immunize one from ethical failure; the narrative contrasts former splendor with later degradation to stress accountability.
