क्यों न हो, इस राजपरिवारमें भी तो ये दोनों एक ही समयसे निवास करते हैं?” इस तरहकी बातें कहकर रानी सुदेष्णा प्राय: नित्य मुझे झिड़का करती हैं ।। क्रुध्यन्ती मां च सम्प्रेक्ष्य समशड्कत मां त्वयि । तस्यां तथा ब्रुवत्यां तु दुःखं मां महदाविशत्,और मुझे क्रोध करती देख तुम्हारे प्रति मेरे गुप्त प्रेमकी आशंका कर बैठती हैं। जब- जब वे वैसी बातें कहती हैं, उस समय मुझे बहुत दुःख होता है
krudhyantī māṃ ca samprekṣya samaśaṅkata māṃ tvayi | tasyāṃ tathā bruvatyāṃ tu duḥkhaṃ māṃ mahad āviśat ||
Al verme turbado, la reina empezó a sospechar de mí en relación contigo, imaginando un apego oculto. Y cada vez que hablaba de ese modo, una gran tristeza me invadía—atrapado entre el deber en la casa real y el dolor de ser malinterpretado.
