प्राउजलिश्न सहामात्यैरिदं वचनमब्रवीत् | किमर्थमुपयाता: स्थ ब्रूत कि करवाणि व:,उसने मन्त्रियोंसहित हाथ जोड़कर उन अतिथियोंसे यह बात पूछी--“आपलोग किस प्रयोजनसे यहाँ पधारे हैं, बताइये, मैं आपलोगोंकी क्या सेवा करूँ?”
prāñjaliḥ saḥ āmātyaiḥ idaṁ vacanam abravīt | kimartham upayātāḥ stha brūta kiṁ karavāṇi vaḥ |
Con las palmas juntas en señal de respeto, y en presencia de sus ministros, se dirigió a los visitantes: «¿Con qué propósito habéis venido aquí? Decidme: ¿qué servicio puedo ofreceros?»
लोगमश उवाच
The verse models atithi-dharma (the duty toward guests): greet respectfully, inquire into the guest’s purpose without suspicion, and offer service with humility and willingness to help.
Lomaśa, accompanied by his ministers, receives arriving visitors. He greets them with folded hands and asks why they have come and what assistance he can provide.
