ब्राह्मणैश्व महाभागैवेंदवेदाड़पारगै: | नित्यमन्वास्यसे राजंस्तत्र का परिदेवना,राजन! महान्‌ भाग्यशाली वेद-वेदांगोंके पारंगत विद्वान्‌ ब्राह्मण सदा तुम्हारे साथ रहते हैं; फिर तुम्हारे लिये इस परिस्थितिमें शोककी क्या बात है?

Transliteration

brāhmaṇaiś ca mahābhāgair vedavedāṅgapāragaiḥ | nityam anvāsyase rājan tatra kā paridevanā, rājan ||

Translation

Dijo Bṛhadaśva: «Oh rey, estás constantemente acompañado por brahmanes muy afortunados—sabios que han dominado los Vedas y sus disciplinas auxiliares (Vedāṅga). En tal situación, ¿qué motivo tienes para lamentarte, oh rey?»
