Kāmyake Arjuna-viyogaḥ — The Pandavas’ despondency in Kāmyaka during Arjuna’s absence

A righteous king sustains dharma by performing sacrifices properly—according to prescribed rites and with appropriate dakṣiṇā—while also maintaining confidence that rightful order and prosperity can be restored.
Bṛhadaśva consoles the king he is addressing (Yudhiṣṭhira in the Vana Parva setting), recalling exemplary sacrificial worship and predicting that the king will soon regain his kingdom and again perform yajñas together with his allies and well-wishers.
