Nala as Bāhuka enters Ṛtuparṇa’s city
उदर्कस्तव कल्याणि कल्याणो भविता शुभे । वयं पश्याम तपसा क्षिप्रं द्रक्ष्म्सि नैषधम्,“कल्याणि! शुभे! हम अपने तपोबलसे देख रहे हैं, तुम्हारा भविष्य परम कल्याणमय होगा। तुम शीघ्र ही निषधनरेश नलका दर्शन प्राप्त करोगी
udarkas tava kalyāṇi kalyāṇo bhavitā śubhe | vayaṁ paśyāma tapasā kṣipraṁ drakṣyasi naiṣadham ||
Dijo Bṛhadaśva: «Oh dama auspiciosa, tu destino venidero será enteramente propicio y afortunado. Por el poder de nuestras austeridades lo vemos: pronto volverás a contemplar a Nala, rey de Niṣadha.»
बृहृदश्च उवाच
The verse emphasizes reassurance grounded in tapas: disciplined spiritual power and insight can steady a distressed mind, affirming that perseverance through suffering can lead to an auspicious resolution.
Bṛhadaśva consoles Damayantī during her separation from Nala, predicting—through ascetic insight—that her future will be auspicious and that she will soon see Nala, the king of Niṣadha.
