Nala’s Embassy to Damayantī and the Gods’ Proposal (नलस्य दूतत्वं देवप्रस्तावश्च)
असंशयं महाबाहो हनिष्यसि सुयोधनम् । वर्षात् त्रयोदशादूर्ध्व सह गाण्डीवधन्चना,“महाबाहो! इसमें तनिक भी संदेह नहीं है कि तुम तेरहवें वर्षके बाद गाण्डीवधारी अर्जुनके साथ जाकर युद्धमें सुयोधनको मार डालोगे
Asaṁśayaṁ mahābāho haniṣyasi Suyodhanam | varṣāt trayodaśād ūrdhvaṁ saha Gāṇḍīvadhanvaṇā ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «Oh, de brazos poderosos, no hay duda alguna: después de que haya pasado el decimotercer año, darás muerte a Suyodhana, saliendo a la batalla junto con Arjuna, el portador del Gāṇḍīva». La afirmación consagra un desenlace seguro en lo moral y en lo narrativo: la larga disciplina del destierro y la contención culminará en un enfrentamiento decisivo, donde la justicia—tardía, pero no negada—se ejecuta mediante la fuerza legítima y la alianza justa.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
That steadfast endurance through a prescribed period (the thirteen-year exile) leads to the inevitable fruition of moral consequence; righteous resolve, when aligned with rightful allies and timing, culminates in the restoration of justice.
Vaiśampāyana foretells with certainty that, once the thirteenth year is completed, the addressed hero will kill Suyodhana in battle, acting together with Arjuna, identified by his famed Gāṇḍīva bow.
