Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Sañjaya on Arjuna’s Indraloka report and the political consequences
The verse highlights an ethical ideal: offering consolation through kind and auspicious speech, and affirming virtue by praising noble conduct (a ‘best of men’ son) rather than mere power or status.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that a speaker (unnamed here) comforts Pṛthā (Kuntī) with gentle words and, smiling, declares her blessed because her son is exceptionally virtuous and eminent.
