Dijo Vaiśaṃpāyana: «Oh dama de hermosas caderas, sábelo: he sido enviado y he venido aquí por mandato del único soberano del cielo, Indra, quien reconoce con gratitud la gracia que tú has concedido».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights ethical reciprocity and recognition of virtue: a righteous deed or gracious favor (prasāda) is acknowledged even by the highest authority (Indra), and legitimate authority acts through proper commissioning rather than arbitrary intrusion.
The narrator reports a messenger’s formal introduction: he tells the addressed lady (Suśroṇī) that he has been sent by Indra, the sole ruler of heaven, who is pleased and grateful for her grace, and that he has arrived under Indra’s command.
