Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्
इत्येवं चिन्तयानस्य पार्थस्यामिततेजस: । ततो वैदूर्यवर्णाभो भासयन् सर्वतो दिश: । यादोगणवृत: श्रीमानाजगाम जलेश्वर:,इस प्रकार चिन्तन करते हुए अमित तेजस्वी कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुनके पास जलके स्वामी श्रीमान् वरुणदेव जल-जन्तुओंसे घिरे हुए आ पहुँचे। उनकी अंगकान्ति वैदूर्यमणिके समान थी और वे सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंको प्रकाशित कर रहे थे
ity evaṁ cintayānasya pārthasyāmitatejasaḥ | tato vaidūryavarṇābho bhāsayan sarvato diśaḥ | yādogaṇavṛtaḥ śrīmān ājagāma jaleśvaraḥ ||
Mientras Pārtha (Arjuna), de esplendor inconmensurable, seguía reflexionando así, llegó ante él Varuṇa, señor de las aguas, rodeado por huestes de seres acuáticos. Resplandeciente como la gema azul vaidūrya, iluminaba todas las direcciones.
