The verse highlights the ethic of honoring merit and virtue: even the gods acknowledge Arjuna with due respect, implying that righteous effort and worthiness attract recognition; it also underscores divine beings acting freely yet orderly—departing as they arrived.
After meeting Arjuna and showing him respect, the assembled gods depart. Their departure is described as swift as thought and in the same manner as their arrival, marking a transition after a divine audience.
