Arjuna’s journey to Indrakīla and encounter with Indra
वैशम्पायन उवाच तच्छुत्वा शर्ववचनमृषय: सत्यवादिन: । प्रहृष्मनसो जम्मुर्यथा स्वान् पुनरालयान्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--भगवान् शंकरका यह वचन सुनकर वे सत्यवादी महर्षि प्रसन्नचित्त हो फिर अपने आश्रमोंको लौट गये
vaiśampāyana uvāca | tac chrutvā śarva-vacanam ṛṣayaḥ satya-vādinaḥ | prahṛṣṭa-manaso jagmur yathā svān punar ālayān |
Vaiśampāyana dijo: Al oír aquellas palabras de Śarva (el Señor Śiva), los rishis veraces se alegraron en su fuero interno y luego regresaron de nuevo a sus propias moradas, a sus ermitas, como antes.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal of satya (truth): those established in truth respond to divine counsel with inner clarity and joy, then return to their proper duties and places without agitation—suggesting that right instruction restores steadiness and dharmic order.
After hearing Lord Śiva’s statement, the sages—described as truthful—become pleased and, their minds uplifted, depart and go back to their own hermitages, indicating the conclusion of an encounter and the sages’ satisfied acceptance of what was said.
