Bhīmasena’s Discourse on Kāla, Resolve, and the Feasibility of Ajñātavāsa (भीमसेनस्य कालोपदेशः)
Rightful success in a dharmic struggle requires both disciplined effort (tapas, courage) and alignment with higher powers; divine gifts such as astras are not taken by force but gained through merit, restraint, and proper approach to the gods.
Vyāsa directs that Arjuna should seek divine weapons by approaching Indra and Rudra; the verse frames Arjuna’s forthcoming quest as the means by which he will secure the resources needed to fulfill the Pāṇḍavas’ larger purpose.
