अनुक्त्वा च पिबन प्रश्नान् पीत्वैव न भविष्यसि । यक्ष बोला--पार्थ! इस प्रकार प्राणियोंपर आघात करनेसे क्या लाभ? पहले मेरे प्रश्नोंका उत्तर दो, फिर जल पीओ। यदि तुम प्रश्नोंका उत्तर दिये बिना ही यहाँका जल पीओगे, तो पीते ही मर जाओगे
anuktvā ca piban praśnān pītvāiva na bhaviṣyasi |
Dijo el Yakṣa: «Si bebes sin responder antes a mis preguntas, no vivirás después de beber. ¡Oh Pārtha!, ¿qué provecho hay en herir así a los seres vivos? Responde primero a mis preguntas y luego bebe el agua. Si bebes el agua de aquí sin contestar, morirás en el mismo instante de beber».
