Dharma-pratyabhijñāna and Vara-pradāna (धर्मप्रत्यभिज्ञानम्—वरप्रदानम्)

The verse highlights unwavering marital fidelity and dharmic resolve: even when confronted with inevitable death, Sāvitrī remains present and devoted, balancing love with clear-eyed awareness of destiny.
As Satyavān approaches the foretold moment of death, Sāvitrī continues to accompany him gently. Internally she is torn—one part of her heart stays with him in devoted companionship, while another anxiously watches for the imminent fatal hour.
