Dharma-pratyabhijñāna and Vara-pradāna (धर्मप्रत्यभिज्ञानम्—वरप्रदानम्)
निरीक्षमाणा भर्तारं सर्वावस्थमनिन्दिता | मृतमेव हि भर्तारें काले मुनिवच: स्मरन्,सती-साध्वी सावित्री अपने पतिकी सभी अवस्थाओंका निरीक्षण करती थी। नारदजीके वचनोंको स्मरण करके उसे निश्चय हो गया था कि समयपर मेरे पतिकी मृत्यु अवश्यम्भावी है
nirīkṣamāṇā bhartāraṃ sarvāvastham aninditā | mṛtam eva hi bhartāraṃ kāle munivacaḥ smaran |
La irreprochable Savitrī velaba a su esposo en toda condición. Recordando las palabras del sabio, quedó cierta de que, cuando llegara la hora destinada, su marido habría de encontrar la muerte sin remedio; por ello lo observaba con resolución casta e inquebrantable.
