Kuntī–Sūrya-saṃvāda: Autonomy, Reputation, and the Promise of Karṇa
The verse highlights the ethic of humility and devotion: when one beholds a righteous person restored from suffering, the fitting response is respectful gratitude (añjali) and dharma-aligned speech, recognizing virtue and divine support rather than personal pride.
Mārkaṇḍeya recounts to Yudhiṣṭhira that Vibhīṣaṇa, seeing Rāma healthy and free from distress, approaches with folded hands and begins to speak—setting up Vibhīṣaṇa’s forthcoming words of reverence and counsel.
