Sāvitrī’s Dialogue with Yama and the Restoration of Satyavān
The verse highlights the ethical value of seeking and offering counsel within household and rulership: even a powerful king pauses to speak thoughtfully with a wise spouse, implying that right action (dharma) is supported by measured speech and consultation.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates a Ramāyaṇa-linked episode: Vāli, splendidly adorned and described as eloquent, turns to his wife Tārā and begins addressing her—setting up the counsel or decision that follows in the next verses.
