Even the greatest are subject to Kāla (Time): embodied life follows an ordained course, and intense attachment and grief can precipitate collapse when one is separated from the righteous object of love.
Mārkaṇḍeya recounts that after Rāma departed for forest-exile, King Daśaratha, unable to bear the separation, soon died—described as the body’s separation occurring according to the inevitable law of Time.
