4. ५ ढ़ है५ $ 2 ऐ कक प 282 श् पे | हट | गा २, | ५ + $ 7 यन्न भीष्मान्न च द्रोणान्न कृपान्न च बाह्नविकात् | प्राप्तवानस्मि भद्ठं ते त्वत्त: प्राप्त मया हि तत्,तत्पश्चात् उसने कर्णसे कहा--“वीरवर! तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। मुझे भीष्मजीसे, आचार्य द्रोणसे, कृपाचार्यसे तथा बाह्लिकसे भी जो वस्तु नहीं मिली थी, वह तुमसे प्राप्त हो गयी
vaiśampāyana uvāca | yanna bhīṣmānna ca droṇānna kṛpānna ca bāhlikāt | prāptavān asmi bhadraṃ te tvattaḥ prāptaṃ mayā hi tat ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Luego le dijo a Karṇa: «Oh el mejor de los héroes, que te sea propicio el bien. Aquello que no pude obtener de Bhīṣma, ni de Droṇa, ni de Kṛpa, ni de Bāhlika, eso mismo lo he obtenido de ti».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical value of dāna (generosity) and kṛtajñatā (gratitude): true greatness is shown not only by status or seniority (Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Kṛpa, Bāhlika) but by the willingness to give what is asked, and it is righteous to acknowledge such giving openly.
The narrator reports a speech addressed to Karṇa: the speaker blesses him and states that a desired benefit—unavailable from other eminent elders—has been obtained from Karṇa, marking Karṇa as the one who granted the request/boon.
