Bhīṣma’s Admonition; Duryodhana’s Rājasūya Aspiration and the Proposal of a Vaiṣṇava-satra
गोरसानुपयुञ्जान उपभोगांश्व भारत । पश्यन् स रमणीयानि वनान्युपवनानि च
gorasa-anupayuñjāna upabhogān śva bhārata | paśyan sa ramaṇīyāni vanāny upavanāni ca ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Oh Bhārata, deleitándose con manjares lácteos y entregándose a diversos placeres, comenzó a contemplar los bosques y arboledas encantadores de aquel lugar». En el hilo del relato, el verso destaca la cómoda indulgencia de Duryodhana en medio de la belleza natural, en contraste moral con la austeridad y la contención esperadas en la vida del bosque, y presagia cómo la búsqueda del placer y el orgullo pueden enturbiar el juicio y atraer el conflicto.
