कुरुकुलके प्रमुख वीर युधिष्ठिर! अब मैं देवताओं तथा ऋषियोंसे सेवित, असंख्य नामों तथा अनन्त शक्तिसे सम्पन्न, शक्ति नामक अस्त्र धारण करनेवाले वीरवर षडानन गुहकी स्तुति करता हूँ, तुम ध्यान देकर सुनो ।। ब्रह्मण्यो वै ब्रह्मजो ब्रह्म॒विच्च ब्रह्मेशयो ब्रह्म॒वतां वरिष्ठ: । ब्रह्मप्रियो ब्राह्मणसव्रती त्वं ब्रद्माज्ञो वै ब्राह्मणानां च नेता,त्वं पुष्कराक्षस्त्वरविन्दवक्त्र: सहस्रवक्त्रोडसि सहस्रबाहु: । त्वं लोकपाल: परम हविश्व त्वं भावन: सर्वसुरासुराणाम् आप कमलनयन, कमलमुख, सहस्रवदन और सहसख़बाहु हैं। आप ही लोकपाल, सर्वोत्तम हविष्य तथा सम्पूर्ण देवताओं और असुरोंके पालक हैं

kurukulake pramukha vīra yudhiṣṭhira! adhunāhaṃ devatābhir ṛṣibhiś ca sevitam, asaṅkhyeyānāmaṃ anantaśakti-sampannaṃ, śakti-nāmāstra-dhāriṇaṃ vīravaraṃ ṣaḍānanaṃ guhaṃ stuve; tvaṃ dhyānaṃ kṛtvā śṛṇu ||
brāhmaṇyo vai brahmajo brahmavic ca brahmeśayo brahmavatāṃ variṣṭhaḥ |
brāhmapriyo brāhmaṇasavratī tvaṃ brahmājño vai brāhmaṇānāṃ ca netā |
tvaṃ puṣkarākṣas tvam aravindavaktraḥ sahasravaktro ’si sahasrabāhuḥ |
tvaṃ lokapālaḥ paramaṃ haviṣyaṃ tvaṃ bhāvanaḥ sarvasurāsurāṇām ||
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: «Oh Yudhiṣṭhira, héroe preeminente del linaje Kuru: ahora alabaré a Guha, el supremo guerrero de seis rostros, portador del arma llamada Śakti, servido por dioses y rishis, dotado de innumerables nombres y de poder sin límite. Escucha con mente recogida. Tú eres devoto del orden sagrado del Brahman, nacido de Brahmā, conocedor del Brahman, señor entre quienes están establecidos en el Brahman, y el mejor de los que moran en el Brahman.
