चित्रसेनगन्धर्वैः कौरवसंनिपातः

अर्चितस्तु स्तुतश्वैव सान्त्वयामास ता अपि | समस्त भूतगणोंसे घिरे हुए भगवान् स्कन्दने उन देवसेनाओंको अपने समीप पाकर उन्हें सान्त्वना दी और स्वयं भी उनके द्वारा पूजित तथा प्रशंसित हुए
arcitastu stutaścaiva sāntvayāmāsa tā api |
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: Habiendo sido debidamente adorado y alabado, el Señor Skanda también consoló a aquellas huestes divinas. Rodeado por las multitudes reunidas de los seres, recibió cerca de sí a los ejércitos de los dioses, los tranquilizó y, a su vez, fue honrado y ensalzado por ellos—mostrando el deber del caudillo: afirmar a los temerosos y aceptar la reverencia sin orgullo.
