चित्रसेनगन्धर्वैः कौरवसंनिपातः
Citrasena and the Kaurava engagement
विनिहत्य तम: सूर्य यथेहाभ्युदितं तथा । उस समय इन सबसे घिरे हुए अग्निनन्दन कार्तिकेय देवताओंद्वारा अभिषिक्त हो भाँति-भाँतिकी क्रीडाएँ करते हुए बड़ी शोभा पा रहे थे। देवताओंने सेनापति पदपर अभिषिक्त हुए कुमार महासेनको इस प्रकार देखा, मानो सूर्यदेव अन्धकारका नाश करके उदित हुए हों
vinihatya tamaḥ sūrya yathehābhyuditaṃ tathā |
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: “Así como el Sol se alza aquí tras destruir las tinieblas, del mismo modo apareció Kumāra Kārttikeya—el amado hijo de Agni—en esplendorosa gloria. Rodeado por los dioses y consagrado por ellos al cargo de comandante, resplandecía mientras se entregaba a diversas diversiones divinas; los dioses contemplaron al recién ungido Mahāsena como si el propio Sol hubiera surgido después de disipar la noche.”
