Dvaītavana Lake: Obstructed Entry
प्रसादात् तव पूज्याश्व प्रियमेतत् कुरुष्व न: । कुमारियाँ बोलीं--हम सब लोग सम्पूर्ण जगतकी श्रेष्ठ माताएँ हों और आपकी कृपासे हम सदा पूजनीय मानी जायाँ, यही हमारा प्रिय मनोरथ है, आप इसे पूर्ण कीजिये
prasādāt tava pūjyāśva priyam etat kuruṣva naḥ |
Mārkaṇḍeya dijo: «Oh venerable, por tu gracia benévola cumple este deseo tan querido para nosotras: que lleguemos a ser madres de la más alta excelencia en todo el mundo, y que, por tu bendición, se nos tenga siempre por dignas de honor».
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical power of prasāda (grace): rightful honor and auspicious outcomes are sought not through coercion but through a revered person’s benevolent blessing, emphasizing humility and the dharmic value of being worthy of respect.
In Mārkaṇḍeya’s narration, the maidens express their cherished request as a boon: that they become supremely excellent mothers and remain perpetually honored, asking the revered figure to fulfill it through his favor.
