Chapter 182
सर्प उवाच तिस्रो वै गतयो राजन् परिदृष्टा: स्वकर्मभि: । मानुषं स्वर्गवासश्च तिर्यग्योनिश्चव तत् त्रिधा,सर्पने कहा--राजन्! अपने-अपने कर्मोंके अनुसार जीवोंकी तीन प्रकारकी गतियाँ देखी जाती हैं--स्वर्गलोककी प्राप्ति, मनुष्ययोनिमें जन्म लेना और पशु-पक्षी आदि योनियोंमें (तथा नरकोंमें) उत्पन्न होना।- बस, ये ही तीन योनियाँ हैं
sarpa uvāca tisro vai gatayo rājan paridṛṣṭāḥ svakarmabhiḥ | mānuṣaṃ svargavāsaś ca tiryagyoniś ca vai tat tridhā ||
Dijo la serpiente: «Oh rey, se ven tres cursos de existencia para los seres, cada uno según sus propios actos: morar en el cielo, nacer como humano y nacer entre los órdenes animales. Así, éstos son los tres destinos determinados por el karma.»
